Caroline’s Green Fridays Blog for G7
Welcome to the first Caroline Stephenson Green Fridays Blog post, timed to coincide with the G7 summit in Cornwall. It is a reflection on a film that was issued to journalists on 27th May, briefing them on Cornwall’s aspiration to be Carbon Neutral by 2030.
There is also a film version of this content, in the Films section.
I’d really love you to SHARE. And please leave comments, but be aware – if you get an Error message – it means you didn’t complete the CAPTCHA correctly!

Thanks for the insight Caroline, many of us are sitting on a mine if some sort!
Thanks for this Caroline. I found it very interesting and an excellent overview of what is going on in my home county. I have many connections in this field, and I will alert some of these people to your work. They include colleagues here at the University of Glasgow, and specialists elsewhere. best wishes Mike
Thank you so much Michael. I would love to be in touch with more folks, especially in Scotland where people seem to be forging ahead with so many interesting projects.
Very interesting Caroline, I’ve only just had time to look at this. Great research! Are you in touch with the people who run the alternative energy projects in Cornwall and Orkney? If so, can you put them in touch with each other, and with the ‘Cornwall Climate action’ group, so that they can pool their knowledge, and together put realistic proposals to Cornwall Council and the uk Government (relevant department!)? Then things could really move forward! Hooray!
Hello there and sorry i don’t seem to be getting immediate notifications that you had written your wonderful comments. The Orkney situation only became clear to me upon randomly phoning the city hall and eventually reaching an individual who wanted to discuss. I am outraged about the power there going back to mainland and then being charged to return it. Re connecting interested parties, I think it isn’t going to be part of my remit to attempt that, only gradually to build an email list of followers. This could otherwise take over every waking hour! Hope you understand. But I will at least see if i can find the connection I spoke to in Orkney and send it to you. Thanks so much 🙂
